To Sherry's family and friends, please accept my deepest condolences. Like so many, I loved Sherry very much and will miss her strong unshakeable presence at church. While everyone who knew her understands her quiet strength, it's challenging for me to describe. Since I love the water, I can find an analogy there. In one sense, Sherry was like a beautiful strong pier-foundation standing in the waves, supporting the visible dock on the surface of the water (our busy little church and Pastor Dick). No matter how the structure above her was changed or modified, no matter what was going on, she could be counted on for support. No worries. She was there. She never drew attention to herself but was warm, engaging, loving and sincere. Her presence was a comfort because she embodied a mature, authentic believer in Jesus, and in that capacity was an example to us all.. a model of perseverance, faithfulness, integrity and humility. We could count on her for prayer, sharing confidences, and a short but sweet encouragement, packed with quiet wisdom. She was a beautiful, loving and warm sister in Christ who loved her husband and son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren with more than all of her heart, but with God's heart as well. I am only comforted by the confidence that she is now with the Lord, at peace, filled with love, and that we will see her again. To her loved ones and many friends, be encouraged. There is no doubt she will greet us on that beautiful white shore, with her beautiful bright smile, glowing even brighter from the presence of Jesus, to welcome us to the beginning of our eternal journey in heaven.

Sherry & her family I have known for years. Sherry was always a great person & friend. I will never forget how much she hated Winnie the Pooh so ion her b-day one year back at Misco I decorated her office with Winne the Pooh plus had a cake with Winnie on it. But she did get me back when I turned 40. She will be greatly missed.

My sister Susan and I will always remember our friend Sherry’s smile and her laughter. We will always miss our talks at church and at bible study. Sherry was sweet, good humored, and a willing helper. She did so much work for our church, especially for outreaches and special projects. We will be forever grateful for Sherry and her husband Pastor Dick’s help during our move to Florissant in 2017. Our church family will miss her generous and loving spirit. Shared with love by Evelyn and Susan Adrian

Sherry was always a joy to be around and constantly considering the feelings of others. One of my favorite memories of her was the way she was at our Bible discussion groups. She rarely made a public statement or asked a question. However, when she did the rest of us thought “I should have said or asked that.”

I want to talk about someone very special to me. Her name is Sherry. We first met in the third grade when my family moved in the middle of the school year. She and I gradually became best friends. Sisters. She was the only girl in her family...I was the only girl in my family. Our first and middle names rhymed. It was as if we were destined to be friends.
We seldom had classes together in junior and senior high schools but we made up for that by passing notes to each other in the hallways then talking on the phone for hours after school. She introduced me to the Beatles and we became Beatlemaniacs in a big way. We would walk everywhere together, for miles and never ran out of things to talk about. We seldom argued but I do remember one time when we did during a walk. She walked on one side of the road and I walked on the other...we met at the end of the road, laughed and walked on together.
When we were younger we'd walk to the local small grocery store and use our allowance to buy a bottle of coke and package of Suzy-Qs. Then we'd sit outside the store and eat and drink and talk and return the bottle inside for our 2 cents deposit.
She never treated me any differently because of my hearing loss. Never teased me about it. I wasn't above teasing her about whether or not she could see when she laughed. Her eyes would squint so much it was as if they were closed. She never took offense. She had blonde hair and blue eyes...I had brown hair and brown eyes. We did everything together when we were not in school...even TPed friends houses.
When I was 21 I moved to California. The next year, she moved there. We both had a son born in the same year. She and her little family moved back to St. Louis...me and my family moved back to St. Louis the following year. Both our surnames begin with B. See? We were destined to be together.
We went to Hawaii together one year and had the time of our lives, creating memories that will last forever. We went to Florida one year and created more memories and were looking forward to making more trips together.
She lives 40 miles from me so we didn't get to see one another as often as we wanted to. Both of us were busy with work and our kids. I got divorced but she stayed married. She was very strong, very loyal, very principled and honorable with tons of integrity. I could not ask for a better friend...or sister. We respected each others differences even when it meant we could not talk about religion or politics. We'd laugh about that. I have a ton of respect for her and always felt honored she was my friend.
Sherry passed away this morning. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer shortly after I'd gotten diagnosed with kidney cancer. Hers was terminal...mine was treatable. She battled the cancer for four months. Even knowing death would be the outcome, I am devastated. My heart has an empty spot now that will only be filled with sweet memories...and there are so many of them spanning 62 years. God how I miss her. Always will. I love you Sherry. Always.
Thank you for reading.
