Obituary of Susan Elaine Tintera
Please share a memory of Susan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
When I first met Susan, we instantly clicked. However, things did not always run smoothly. On our first date, she offered me directions, but I declined boasting I was a professional driver. What I didn't know was my shortcut was a dead-end street. After arriving 30 minutes late, her mom said, "don't answer that, he's late." Instead her dad came out, looked me over & said, "come on in." Things went way smoother after that. 4 years later, I sent her flowers with a note that read "will you marry me?" The next day we hopped a Fun jet Honeymoon flight to Vegas. On the plane, I turned to her & said "Hey, you never said yes!" She turned & laughed. We landed in Vegas & went straight to the courthouse. They are open 24/7 including the 4th of July. Then we went to Silver Bells Wedding Chapel. She finally said yes. Ending up at the Stardust Hotel, we were honeymooning in the hot tub only 2 hours after landing. She loved all of our 4-legged babies for the rest of her life, having no children of our own. She was born with cerebral palsy & grew up using crutches. The doctors told her she would never walk. But she proved them wrong when she developed her "do self" motto. She drove her own car. She hiked the Smokies, swam the gulf, went grocery shopping & everything a housewife could do. Her body may have failed her, but her spirit never did. She was a strong & amazing woman who I will always love. Love you forever, Wence. She leaves behind her husband Wence, her father Joseph & Dottie, her sisters Cathy, Terri & Jill, her brothers Joe, Gary & Scott, her aunts Judy & Jackie, her uncle Michael, & many nieces & nephews.
