Obituary of Dominic Salvatore Scotino
There's no tragedy in life like the death of a child. Things never get back to the way they were. Dwight D. Eisenhower
On Monday, October 29, 2018, Dominic Scotino, son of Danny and Terri Scroggins passed away suddenly at the age of 37 years. Dominic leaves behind his heart-broken parents, brother Mike Scotino, sister Geneva (Perry) Sims, and brother Alan Scroggins. Dominic will be forever remembered by his many aunts, uncles, niece, nephew, cousins, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Scotino and grandparents Frank and Irene Gaal and Charles and Bette Scotino.
Dominic had a caring and patient way with the very young and with the elderly. He was friendly, polite and would lend a hand to anyone needing help. Dom loved talking to people and putting them at ease and everyone he met was an immediate friend.
Dominic attended the Culinary Arts program at Forest Park Community College. He had a career as a chef and was written up in the Riverfront Times as an up and coming executive chef for a new restaurant on The Hill.
Dominic was an animal lover and would try to convince everyone of the goodness, loyalty and intelligence of a pitbull by showing off his girl “Buttercup”. His cat, “Mooley”, has been restless since his passing.
Honoring his wishes, a private celebration of life will be held later.
