Obituary of Beverly Jackson
LIFE REFLECTIONS- HER STORY
Beverly, middle initial “L” (as she would repeatedly stress) Jackson made her entrance into this world on October 9, 1957, as the 4th of 5 children born to the union of John Henry Jackson and Helen Louise Dungy-Jackson.
During the Easter of 1967, Beverly was baptized after confessing a hope in Christ under the leadership of Reverend Willie Wright at True Light Missionary Baptist Church. As a rambunctious child, Beverly made her way through the Saint Louis Public School System. She ultimately graduated from Sumner High School in 1976. Beverly briefly served in the navy during the mid-80s before being honorably discharged. Beverly worked in many different industries such security and home healthcare. However, the common denominator was all those industries served people.
Beverly was a woman destined from birth to live life on her own terms. She chose her own path down life’s road without interference and direction from others, after all she was her father child. Beverly did as she pleased, had little to no fear and exhibited a “no holds barred” type of attitude towards those she met. Beverly definitely knew how to make life an adventure and commanded the attention of everyone in any room she entered. She would always say, “THE WORLD IS A GREAT BIG PLACE TO GO OUT AND F**K UP IN IT!” Beverly believed if you obeyed all the rules then you’d miss all the fun!!!
Despite of Beverly’s tough exterior, she was a caring and loving person who loved her family and friends immensely! She constantly went out of her way, bent over backwards to always help others no matter what the task. Beverly’s mentality was “if she had it then you had it.” If she didn’t have it then she’d find a way to help you get it; it was just her nature.
Beverly lived as the woman she was and died as she lived- a stubborn, strong willed, fierce, courageous, and fun-loving individual with a great sense of humor. she managed to keep everyone laughing during her illness until the end. she fought cancer tooth and nail until the final curtain call, when she made exit from this world on Wednesday. September 11, 2019!
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen. Her only brother Vernon Lee Jackson; two nephews Ronald Lee Jackson and Andre Timothy Jackson.
Beverly leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Andrea Janae and Laron Darnell; Granddaughter, Jamil Adriana; The Love of Her Life, Larry Day Sr.; Her Sisters, Patricia Ann, Norma Jean, Johnnie Denise, Harriet Frances, and Sister in Law Geraldine Jackson (Vernon). Beverly has one niece, 12 nephews, 6 Great Nephews, 14 Great Nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED AND ALWAYS REMEMBERED!
