Obituary of Gary Jones

Gary T. Jones, the 2^nd of six siblings was born to Robert and Juanita Jones on October 30, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri. His father, mother, two brothers, Tyrus Jones and Edward Jones and one child, Cortez Johnson preceded him in death.

 Gary received his educational training in the St. Louis Public Schools, he graduated High School at Vashon High School. Gary loved sports he played baseball, football, and basketball. Gary loved to dance in his community where he grew up.  He was a loving and friendly person. Gary knew everybody from the old neighborhood to the projects. If he met you, you had a friend for life.

Gary held several jobs in food service, janitorial services, the dry-cleaning business as well as the Healthcare Services.

Gary professed his faith in Christ at the age of 15 years old at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Later, in life he joined West Side Missionary Baptist Church. Gary participated in the NEXT STEP and SMBS with Reverend Alexis Glenn-Johnson and Deacon Reggie Harris; he also had a GREAT LOVE for Sunday School Class.

Gary leaves to cherish his memory. 2 Brothers, Robert Jones (Desiree), Darron Jones (Nicole); (1) Sister, Reverend Patrice Jones; (1) Granddaughter Naya Johnson; (2) nieces, Maya Jones and Xavia Jones; (5) Nephews, Quincy Simms, Robert Jones III, Darron Jones Jr., Jarod Jones, and Miles Jones; (1) Great-Niece, Zaria S. Jones; (2) Great Nephews, Tywan and Tyree Simms.

Gary will be forever loved and sorely missed by his family, friends, and his West Side Missionary Baptist Church Family, and others that he encountered in his life’s journey.
