What I remember most about Roger is that he loved me. He was always a better friend to me than I was to him. I pray that God will crown him with glory. I will never forget him. Always eager to give a smile, always felt better when he showed up. What a beautiful soul. Thanks for being my friend Rog.

I first met Roger when his family moved to Springville, Utah and his younger sister, Joann, became my best friend. I am the same age as Roger. He kept himself aloof and seemed like a lost soul until our senior year of high school when he was chosen to be the drum major of our high school band. The change in him was amazing to me. In addition to being a good musician that played trombone and guitar, he was a great leader. He had drive and wisdom that hadn't been apparent before. We had a great year as a band and saw more success than we had ever seen before. I will never forget our triumphs together. After Joann's death at a young age, Roger told me he was going to appreciate his family more, and I believe that he did. You will be missed Roger. Thank you for all your years of service to protect us all. Janna Palmer Bassett
