Obituary of Roessa Finger
Please share a memory of Roessa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Roessa “Roe” Finger was born February 14, 1961, in St Louis, Missouri to the union of Dorcey Mae Finger and William Field. She was the thirteenth child of fifteen siblings. Her mother, father, and four siblings preceded her in death.
Roe was educated in the St. Louis Public School System. The last school she attended was McKinley High School.
Roe was a very kindhearted person in her own way. She loved to go to church. She would help anyone that needed her help.
Roe didn’t have any children, but she babysat an uncountable amount of children in her lifetime. The children that met her LOVED ROE.
Roe was a very strong-willed person. She never gave up on herself. If she couldn’t make things happen, she never forgot she had siblings she could call on in time of need.
Roe experienced a very serious injury in her life due to a motorcycle accident; she and a friend fell over the union street viaduct causing her to break her pelvic bones and several other bones in her body. The doctors told her she will never walk again but Roe overcame the odds. Roe walked, and continued life as if nothing was wrong. We, the family admired, how she always tried to hold her own. Roe made things happed in her own way.
Roe found her spiritual salvation at “The New Church” under the leadership of Pastor Anthony McCaa.
Roe loved her entire family, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for any of us. She housed many family members, when they didn’t have a place to go. She made sure she made it to every family reunion. Roe would bring anyone that wanted to come family or not. If you were cool with her, you were family.
Roe had a very dear friend and companion, Trudy Martin, you helped Roe in many struggles in her life. Trudy, we know you had your hands full! Thank you!!!
Roe leaves to cherish her loving memories, her companion, Trudy Martin; her oldest living Brother, John Finger; Brothers, Tyrone Finger, Michael Finger (Sandra), Floyd Finger (Joyce Ann), Royce Finger (Lavern), Lawrence Finger (Kim), Eric Finger, William Finger (Lisa), Kirk Finger (Phyllis); Sister, Lucille Finger.
