In Loving Memory Of Willie Mae Brock May 6, 1926 - October 13, 2020 LIFE REFLECTIONS Willie Mae Brock was born the third of three sons and two daughters to Jerry and Mariah Childs on May 6th, 1926 in Macon, Mississippi. She raised ten children, seven boys and 3 girls, Her firstborn Samuel Birt and siblings Lemanda Childs, Larry Chester Childs, Morris Childs and Samuel Childs preceded her in death. Once she became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, all of her energy and passion was put toward raising her children and being a full-time pioneer. (In the 1970’s full-time pioneers volunteered well over 100 hours per month in the global preaching work.) She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a full-time pioneer for over 52 years and did not miss an opportunity to preach and teach individuals about the good news of God’s Kingdom and the promise of everlasting life. She leaves to cherish her memory nine children, Lois (Johnnie), Bennie, Willie (Tammy), Jonathan, Marvin, Mark, Michael, Annetta (James), and Babbetta (Brian); 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; in addition all the Christian brothers and sisters who shared her hopes of a resurrection. John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” Mathew 24:13 “He that endures to the end will be saved.” Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Our Family wishes to acknowledge with genuine appreciation the multitude of heartfelt condolences extended in the memory of Willie Mae Brock. OUR MOTHER She was courageous, smart, strong, direct, blunt, fun and funny… with all of that said she left no doubt when it came to her love for Jehovah, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Love “is a perfect bond of union,” says Colossians 3:14. She knew that she could not be truly happy and emotionally secure without love, especially within the family. As the mother of nine children, full-time pioneer and maid… you just had to wonder how it was possible that she got it all done?! “Make sure of the more important things,” the Bible advises. (Philippians 1:10). In doing so, she raised straight-A students and taught each one of them Bible principles and what it meant to be a Christian. Her faith in Jehovah was unwavering and she took comfort in the promise of a resurrection and everlasting life for those faithful servants of Jehovah God. Nothing in life compares to a Mother’s Love. Growing up, our Mother was very protective and watched over us closely not wanting us to associate or be in an environment that could potentially be a bad influence. She would however, let us have friends over. Whenever we would ask her comment was always “One more won’t hurt”; this really gave her an opportunity to spy and make sure the person wasn’t a bad person. With twenty-four grandchildren each of them has their own unique loving grandma experience. She wasn’t just a babysitter; her grandchildren accompanied her to conventions, out in field service, even traveled parts of the United States and Canada with her. They’ve even had their first experiences with various modes of transportation; trains, planes, metro-bus, tour bus and even rollercoaster rides at amusement parks such as Six Flags and Disneyland. Along the way the grandchildren became her personal manicurist, masseuse, and stylist. She held each as precious jewels always loving and nurturing with a strong disciplinary hand… She was everything. We are so thankful for having her as our Mother. She has told us many times “Don’t worry I put everything in Jehovah’s hands.”
