Obituary of Thomas Reed Keener

Thomas “Tom” Reed Keener was born on March 16, 1935 to Ethel Keener and Irene (Reed) Keener. He had 3 brothers Herman Keener, Harold Keener and Donald Keener who all preceded him in death. He served in the Air Force as a meteorologist until 1958. In 1960 he married Carol (Sawosko) Andersen and divorced in 1980. He later married Bertha (Cantrelle) Keener in 1983 and was widowed in 2009. Tom was a Hillsboro Reserve Police Officer for a short time. He later retired from Chrysler in 2004. He is survived by three daughters Robin (Phillips) Paloma (husband Richard) of Tracy, CA; Barbara “Keener” Bonin of Dupo, IL; Angela (Keener) Waggoner of Fulton, MO. He was preceded in death by son Thomas “Joe” Keener of Benton, IL. He is also survived by three stepchildren Dale Phillips of DeSoto, MO; Janie Gould of Festus, MO and Darrin Phillips (wife Mandi) Festus, MO. Tom is survived by eleven grandchildren. Nichole Weber (husband Kevin), Tony Paloma (wife Kirsten) Torii Davis, Zack Keener, Josh Phillips, Justin Phillips, Joelle Buffington (husband Samuel) Gregory Gould, Ian Waggoner, Chloe Gould, and Nikolai Phillips He has six great grandchildren Justin Keener, Jaden Keener, Grayson Weber, Dylan Weber, Nico Paloma and Liam Paloma. Tom passed peacefully at home on January 15, 2021 There will be a Memorial Service to remember his life to be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent to ASPCA, your local animal shelter or any Parkinson’s Research Organization.
