Obituary of Jarius M. Whitfield

Jarius Marquis Whitfield was born on October 2, 1998 in Centerville, Illinois to Catherine D. Scott and Jarius Whitfield. His Mother, Father, grandparents Sam and Nancy Latchison, uncles John, Jessie, Jerry (aunts) Marie, Lizann, Cathy, and his brother Dwayne all preceded him in death. Jarius was raised by Michael, Kenesha, Sheena, and Temple. He attended the St. Louis Public School System. Jarius joined Solomon Temple Missionary Baptist Church on March 23, 2008 under the leadership of the Late Rev. Albert Manson Sr., who also preceded him in death. He was baptized on April 6, 2008 after he gave his life to Christ. Jarius was apart of the Solomon Temple Youth Choir as Sergeant-At-Arms, St. Louis Progressive Baptist District Association, Boyz 2 Men Club, Usher Ministry, and Junior Deacon. He studied piano with Kevin Wafford's Music N-44 Soul program with his brothers and he played softball for Matthews-Dickey Boy’s Club. Jarius leaves to cherish his memories: his children: Aaliyah, Jarius Jr.; his father: Michael Latchison; his mother: Temple Clanton; his grandparents: Carrie and Felix; his brothers: Terrence, Jamie, Jimmy, and Cedrick; his uncles: Tennessee, John, Tommie, Terry, Casey; aunts: Marie, Mary Alice, Annie, Ellen, Pearlie, Linda, Michelle. The Mother of his children Amanda. A host of family and friends. And two very special friends Crystal Crews and Chuck Gilbert. Jarius Marquis Whitfield was a donor to the American Donor Association.
