Obituary of Carrie Mae Clanton

The life of Carrie Mae Clanton began March 11, 1964. She was born to the union of Mattie Mariah Scott and Elex Scott in Paulette, Mississippi. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, Elex and Mattie Scott; brothers Alex Ed Jr., Jessie, Henry, and Lee David; sisters, Catherine, Elizabeth, Marie, and Elizabeth; grandchildren, Jarius and Dwayne Jr.. Carrie was educated in East St. Louis District 189 school system. Carrie Mae will be remembered for her heart of passion and love for her family. She was never ashamed of the things she endured in her life because she celebrated her victories both big and small. The family knew when Carrie entered the room the party was about to TURN UP! She was the life of the party; always got on the dance floor. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. Carrie joined her parents, siblings, and grandchildren in that beautiful City called Heaven on Friday July 9, 2021. Carrie’s memory will be remembered by her children Kenesha Clanton, Dwayne Clanton Sr. (Felix), and Temple Clanton (Adrian); Sisters, Mary Alice (Londell), Ellen (Andre), Willie Mae, Doris, Annie (David), and Pearlie; Brothers, John Henry (Mary), Willie, Tommie (Pamela), and John Neal; two special sisters, LaVerne and Chris; special brother, Robert Mahoney; Grandchildren, Antwonette, Cedrick, Shania, Davionna, Adrianna, Khaleya, Ta’Nayla, Daniyah, Darrion, Jamie, Jimmie, and a host great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and nephews.
