Obituary of Gene Rayford Jr.

Gene who was sometimes referred to as Gene Gene, was born June 23,1980, to his mother Shirley J. Booker of Snellville, GA, and his father Gene Rayford Sr. (who preceded him in death). In addition to the loss of his father, he was also preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mary Booker and Katherine Ramsey. As a child, Gene enjoyed playing video games with his younger brothers and cousins. He attended and graduated high school at Soldan International. There he was a part of ROTC through being a part of ROTC, Gene was given the opportunity to leave the state to visit Canada. It was the best field trip he ever had, he really enjoyed himself. Gene worked several jobs through the years before he developed a disability. In addition, he developed some unhealthy habits. He worked hard to overcome them. However, it ultimately led to his decline in health. Gene tried his best to better himself. He recently was trying to further his education by studying college courses at home online. Gene enjoyed life and spending time with friends and family. He will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and friends. Gene leaves behind his mother Shirley J. Booker; his brothers, Andre Booker, Damien Booker, Antoine Booker, Markus Cochrell, Fabian Turner, Charles Davis, and Joshua Johnson; his sisters Janean and Crystal Johnson; his aunts, Aunts Sandra Rayford, Aunt Norma Jean Graves; Aunt Ida Cole of Murphysboro, IL, Aunt Dana Williams of Marietta GA, and Aunt Felicia Booker of Las Vegas Nevada. He also leaves a host of other great aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
