Obituary of Ora Mae Brown-Temes
Please share a memory of Ora to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ora Mae Brown-Temes was born March 19, 1937, in Marks, MS, the daughter of Ora Lee and William “Big Boy” Brown. Ora was the third
of 12 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters (Emma, Jean, and Annette), and seven brothers (O.C., Sammie, Otis, Frank, Lewis, Willie B., and Jack). Ora confessed a love for Christ at an early age and remained a dedicated and faithful servant until she peacefully transitioned.
Ora was a member of Mount Herald Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher until her health began to fail.
Ora and George V. Temes shared a blessed union for 51 years and to this union four daughters and two sons were born. Her husband, George, son Timothy, and granddaughter Sonya proceeded her in death. Aunt Ora, as she was affectionately known as, had a heart of gold. She enjoyed cooking, traveling to Mississippi, and sharing time
with her family and friends. She welcomed everyone into her home and would help in any way she could always with a smile. Ora was
employed at St. Louis University and after 37 years she retired to focus on caring for her mother.
On September 30, 2021, God dispatched his angel to bring her home to be with Him to rest at peace. She would like you to know her work here is done. Her new mission takes her to a beautiful place where she will be socializing, smiling, and taking care of others to her heart’s content.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children Margret (Charles), Larry (Chantal), Patricia, Joyce (Ronnie), and Michelle; Her stepchildren, John (Tonya), Ruby (Fred), and James; Her sisters Carrie, Cora, and Ruther and brothers Harrill, James (Lillie) William, Oscar, Johnny, and Monroe; Her grandchildren LaShonda (Johnnie), Antonio, LaRon (Tiffany), Alexis, Ryan, Kenisha, Keiona, Brian, Kimberly, Larrycesa, Timothy Jr., Jimmy, Twanese, Lauren, Laraye, Neveah, and Nico; Her 31 great grandchildren, and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends (Gwen Wright, Vebline Mason, Marks, MS, Barbara Goodloe) the Whitley family and church family.
