Obituary of Louis Moore

Louis Wallace Moore was born on November 25, 1934, in
Leland, Mississippi to the union of his mother, Nander Hoskin and
father, Oscar Moore. He was the oldest of six siblings. His parents
preceded him in death along with his siblings, Oscar Moore,
Donald James Moore, Dennis Hoskin, Taft Ewing, Jimmy Lee
Hoskin, Shirley Moore, and Barbara Ann Ewing; daughter, Reva
Robinson, and son-in-law, Henry Presley.
Louis gave his life to Christ at an early age. His nickname was,
“Deacon”. Their pastime as a family was bible quizzes. The family
moved from Mississippi to St. Louis, Missouri and Calvary Missionary Baptist Church
became his church home.
Louis went to Vashon High School where he played baseball and
basketball with neighborhood friends. He played basketball for
the Air Force but let him tell it he flew jet planes. After being
honorably discharged from the Air Force, he worked for the St.
Louis Post Office. He was also one of the founders of the A Plus
Program at the post office. He started at the post office sorting
mail, moved his way up to being the EEOC Director, Manager of
Employment and Development, and ended as the Director of
Human Resources. Louis was also a member of the YMCA
Wiseman’s Club.
Louis married the love of his life, Myrlene. This union of love was
gifted with three beautiful children. They remained were married
67 years. The two would always agree that they had a good life
together.
Let’s not forget the other side of Mr. Moore’s life, starting with
Mel’s, Big O’s, and ending with the Zodiac better known as,
Grandaddy’s Church, by Lil’ Joe. He loved helping others and he
continued helping until the Lord called him home.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife of
67 years, Myrlene Moore; one son, Anthony (Sena) Moore, son in
law, Joe Robinson; daughter, Terry Presley; sister, Michelle
Moore; sister in law, Cassandra Hoskin; Grandchildren,
LaParacina (Eddie) Williams, Joe (Quiana) Robinson, Robyn
Presley, Brooke Presley, Ashley Robinson, Anthony Moore Jr., and
Ivory Moore; Great Grandchildren Amoria, Layla, Tyson, Nihla,
Taniya, Justice, Deneen, Tabitha, Darashay, Rianna, and host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
