Life Reflections
February 2, 1957 – April 25, 2017
Timothy Wayne Smith (Tim Bear)
Our beloved brother was born on February 2, 1957 in Meacham Park, Kirkwood, Mo. to the union of Jake Smith and Lucille (Frailey) Smith. Timothy Wayne Smith was the youngest child of nine to that union.
He acknowledged his faith in Christ at an early age at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Wellston, Mo. He went to Kirkwood High School . Shortly after leaving Kirkwood High School, he moved to San Francisco, California and attended San Francisco Community College while living with his oldest brothers, James Smith who departed in 2001. While in California he met and married Melissa Johnson and with that union was born a son, Dave
In 1977 he worked for a storage moving company as a truck driver until he became disabled. He then moved in with his mother and father in Pittsburg, California. Tim lived with his parents until they were called to heaven. Soon after his parents passed, Timothy moved in with his older brother, Earl James Smith (E.J.) . After several years of living with his brother Tim decided that he would get better medical care and assistance in St. Louis Mo. After arriving in St. Louis, Mo. He lived with his sister Beatrice Westfall (Joy) where he received loving care and attention from his sister and our cousin Prince Moye.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing and talking with his family and friends. Tim never met a person that he did not carry a conversation with and he never met a person that he did not like. That is where he got his nick name “Tim Bear” from.
Tim is preceded in death by his father, Jake Smith, his mother, Lucille Smith, his brother James Smith, his sister Rose Spears, and Emperia Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving son, Dave Johnson, his sisters and brothers Earl Smith (E.J.), Beatrice Westfall, Barbara Moye, April Calvin and Kanitha Edward and three brother in laws Walter B. Spears, Sam Edwards and Riel Calvin along with a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
