Please share a memory of LeVergne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LeVergne (Lee) C. Bryant departed this world on March 4, 2023. She spent that last day surrounded by the love of her family and smiled at the knowledge of her first great-great grandchild as well as the impending arrival of another great grandchild. Her family tree is still growing. Lee was born in Kansas City, MO in 1927, the youngest child and only daughter of Nina & Charles Bookwalter. She lived through amazing times in history including the Great Depression and WWII which may have help build that independent, hard working spunk that she had throughout her life. She was a beautiful, talented, spirited woman with a quick wit and self confidence that many women of that era did not possess. She lived and loved & in return was loved deeply. In 1965 , she married her second husband that she often described as her “best friend” and “love of her life” Dave Bryant. Together they loved and raised the 8 children between them and taught them that “Family is Forever “. She was immensely proud of all of those children. Eventually Lee & Dave were able to retire in the Lake Of The Ozarks area and enjoyed a over a decade of “honeymoon “ years together. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Bryant, son, Noel Shekleton (Lynn) of Blackstone, VA; brothers William Bookwalter and Robert Bookwalter. She is survived by children: Zoe (late Don) Ransom, Gayle (Steve) Privett, Marilyn (Jeff Muss) Bryant, Margaret (Rich) Eidson, Virginia (late Rick Joslin) Bryant, Wally Bryant & Jean (Jim Robbins) Albaugh; grandchildren: Julie (Mark)Smith, Clay (Audra) Shekleton,Kelly Comer, Sam ( Kellie) Eidson, Aaron (Nicole) Eidson, Matthew (Taylor) Shekleton, Neil (Karina) Eidson, Elizabeth Albaugh; 16 great grandchildren as well as one “on the way” and a recent great -great granddaughter! Her legacy is secure, she will be remembered and missed.
