Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Taylor was born October 18, 1953, in Marion, Arkansas to the union of Vera and Richard Taylor (both preceded him in death). He was the 6th of 10 Siblings. He was preceded in death by four siblings; Vera Mae, Willie (Punch), Jenkins, and Richard Jr. At an early age, his relatives relocated him to St. Louis, MO, where he attended and was educated in the St. Louis Public Schools System. Robert confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Paradise Temple under the leadership of Pastor Willie B. Nunley Sr. He was a faithful member over the years until his death under the leadership of Pastor Charles Williams III. After a short stint in the United States Marine Core, Robert married Corinne Ruffin and to this union three children were born. Upon the dissolution of his first marriage, he met, fell in love, and married his current wife, Brenda Ward in 1986. To this union one daughter was born. He was a loyal employee of the Metropolitan Sewer District for 31 years, Robert decided in 2015 to say, “good-bye work tension and hello my pension” and retired from MSD. While retired, he kept his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends entertained with his many antics, jokes, and visits. Robert was a loving and dedicated husband, father, sibling, and friend. He was ALWAYS available when asked for help. the word “NO” was not a part of his vocabulary and his infectious laugh will always be remembered. He was known to many as “Mr. T” and known for his famous greeting referencing to everyone as "Kinfolk", good times, travel, fun, and affection was shared by him with both family and friends. Early in 2023 Robert was diagnosed with the dreadful and insidious disease of pancreatic cancer. When “medical miracles” failed and pain persisted, God, our Father, looked down at his suffering son and upon HIS decree the Angel of Death swept in and carried his soul to the throne. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4 Roberts leaves to cherish his transgression, a loving wife Brenda; four children: Saletra (Tony), Robert Jr. (JoAnn), Johnny (Tameka) and Robin; three Godchildren, Danielle, Dominique, and Jerika; two brothers, Johnny Taylor of Joliet, IL, and David (Ray ) Taylor, of St. Louis, MO; three sisters, Betty Samara (Sam) of St. Louis, MO, Jennie Johnson (Earnest) of Proctor, AR, and Barbara Miller (Preston) of St. Louis, MO; four sisters-in-law, Louise Kirby of Patterson, NJ, Mattie Ward of Atoka, TN, Lenise Lee of St. Louis, MO, Dorothy Ward of Benton Harbor, MI and Jackie Cole (Scott) of Benton Harbor, MI, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
