When I lost my Mother,
I lost my dearest friend.
When I lost my Father,
I thought the world would end.
But, when I lost my Daughter,
I stood and screamed at God
"I can't carry this sweet Jesus,
my shoulders aren't that broad."
That night as I lay dreaming,
that I was with them all.
As we sat together,
guess who came to call?
He sat right down beside me,
and whispered in my ear,
"I didn't steal your loved one,
I brought her to me, here."
He held me in his loving arms,
for just a minute there.
I told him that my heartache,
was more that I could bear.
That morning when I woke-up,
the sun was shining bright,
and now I feel my heartache,
in a different light.
Sleep well, sweet baby girl
. . . I'll see you one day soon!
