Erle John Croft Sr., 53, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
“Big Pete”, as he was affectionately known, was born and raised in St. Louis by Marjorie (Phelps) and the late George Croft. Big Pete will be remembered for his big heart, giving attitude, and his love of cars. His love for cars lead him to rebuild engines and race the straightaways at Gateway Raceway where he enjoyed spending his Friday nights.
He is preceded in death by his father George H. Croft, sister Linda Stoneking, brother George H. Croft II, nephew George H. Croft IV. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Marjorie Croft of St. Louis, MO; sister Karen Overturf of Pontoon, IL; the children he loved so much, Amanda Croft of Bourbon, MO, Sarah (Croft) & husband Joseph Campbell of Dupo, IL, Robyn Croft of Sappington, MO, Erle Croft Jr. of St Louis, MO, David Croft of St Louis, MO, and Katherine Croft of St Louis, MO; and many grandchildren, several loving cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family is planning a private memorial to celebrate his life and all the love he had to share.
