Obituary of Carolyn Sue Spurlock

Carolyn Sue Spurlock, 58, went to rest in our Lord’s arms on July 21,2020 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 08, 1962 at Massac County Hospital and grew up in Cypress, IL. She graduated from Vienna High School in 1980 and attended Shawnee Community College. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Donald Spurlock; her two children, Amanda Shoot and Chad Spurlock. She also has two grandchildren, Emmett Shoot and Carter Shoot. Also surviving is her father, Claude Pease, sister Theresa Morris, brother David Pease and brother Dennis Dunn. Carolyn was a kind, loving and selfless woman. She was a wonderful mother and an amazing “Gigi”. She will be remembered for her strength and her kind heart. She never knew a stranger. Carolyn’s selflessness and legacy will continue as she donated her organs to help save others. She was so loved and will be greatly missed.
