Obituary of Jeffrey Burkes

Jeffrey Burkes 5-26-1971 to 1-19-2017 Everyone knew him as Jeff. Jeff was born in Urbana, IL but spent most of his life in California. He attended college at Fresno State University which he loved and was a proud Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity brother. He graduated with a degree in criminology and served in the Monterey California Police Department where he was part of their SWAT team and was a bicycle patrol office, until he medically retired and moved to Saint Louis, MO in 2002. During Jeff's time in St. Louis he spent most days working, working out and out with friends. Jeff had many successful sales roles throughout his time in St. Louis. For the last 4 years he was a gun manager for a large retail chain. Jeff was a very active person who loved soccer, snowboarding, target practice and travel. Jeff was extremely smart, loved to be social, never knowing a stranger. His friends will miss his contagious laugh, his witty personality and amazing stories. His smile and kindness will be treasured. A Memorial Service will be hosted by Ryan and Julie Gantner on Saturday Feb, 4th from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at 1517 Washington Ave, Suite 600 in Saint Louis, MO.
